Thank you to everyone who came out to the meeting Sunday to hear about a Care Team and thankful for so many of you who joined the mission. If you were not able to make that meeting, stay tuned there will be another meeting in February.

We discussed what a Care Team is and does, what different roles there are, and how we can function. I am currently making a video to explain care teams and will let you know when that is posted. Should you have any questions about the mission, roles, or how you can get involved, please contact me.

The mission we discussed was Norway. The high number of atheist coupled with the high number of people who are nothing or indifferent is shocking. Norwegians have recently received freedom of religion and it seems they are choosing nothing. Cultural norms state no one is better than anyone else and Norwegians do not talk with people they do not know. All of this combined makes for a very dark place spiritually, a place that is need of light. We are currently planning a scouting trip in late summer or early fall to learn more about Norwegian cultural norms and look for a church that could be a spiritual covering.

We also discussed an opportunity to serve while getting ready for the Norway mission. A few weeks ago I was praying and asking God to show me what was next. What is the next one thing I need to do to get to Norway?  What I got back not 30 minutes later was an invitation to help a missionary in Uganda. Beverly Rich, from The Bridge Calvary Chapel in Jinja, Uganda, was looking for a little help. Beverly will be on a three month furlough starting in April and was looking for someone to be there while she was traveling. After praying and seeking wise counsel from many, the decision was made to go help her.

The actual trip is paid for. I am working to get a visa and immunizations now. Our Care Team also thought an emergency exit fund would be prudent, and I agree. I do not anticipate needing to leave in a hurry and find when I am prepared for something I tend to not need it.  The estimated funds needed is $5,280. This week many of you have generously donated $1,315. That leaves 3,965 to go. Please click here to donate.

As I am talking with people over the last few weeks I am thankful God put so many people in my path. Learning about so many things like: grapefruit seed extract, mopeds, permethrin, water filtration, hand to hand combat… God using The Body of Christ to equip me to go serve The Body of Christ.

One thing I do need is someone to show me how to operate a moped or motorcycle. It has been a number of years since I have driven or ridden. I am told these are used quite often in Uganda. I do not anticipate needing to drive one but that whole prepared thing again. Would anyone in the greater Albuquerque area be able to help with this?

I have a couple prayer requests if you have a minute:

  • Soften hearts of Norwegians

  • Planning the scouting trip

  • Finding a spiritual covering

  • Helping Beverly Rich

  • Funding for Uganda trip

How can I pray for you? Please send me a note.
